What I've Been Wearing


Here are a couple of outfits I've been wearing regularly this summer, I'm trying to squeeze every last drop of pretty dress season before its time to go back to shorts over leggings and huge, snuggly hoodies! Not that I'm not looking forward to that, I quite enjoy bundling up, but pretty dresses!


Terrible quality photos. Imagine if I actually had an actual camera with a tripod, wouldn't that be nice! Maybe when I'm rich. The first dress is from Primark and I saw Nancy from Hollyoaks wearing it also! It's from last year though. The blue lace dress is from River Island and also pretty old.

Dress Up

Do you ever have one of those days where you just put on something fancy even though you're not leaving the house because god, if you have to wait for a fancy place to come along to wear it you might just go crazy? That was me yesterday. Luckily, no one was around to think I was crazy since Mike is away this weekend, unluckily no one was around to take my outfit pictures. These are all kinds of abysmal, but I really want to share this dress with you!


This is actually the underlay. I spied this dress in the Tokyo Doll section of New Look and actually got lucky and scored it in the sale for £9! Originally it had this cropped tshirt attached to it, but I picked it off so I could wear the top separately, then I noticed actually the under vest bit could pass as a normal dress. I was so stoked! I've wanted a dress with a tulle-ish skirt for ages to prance around in.


I basically ruin every good dress with my DMs. I can't help it, I just wish I was Courtney love, okay? I got these babies off Ebay two years ago for £35! They're STILL the most painful to walk in. Does anyone have any tips for breaking in DMs? Whoever said they're the most comfy shoes ever is a complete liar!



Burger locket is from Lazy Oaf, I'm still way too scared to wear it out in case I lose it. It was a birthday present and just the most perfect thing I have ever owned. I still don't have anything inside though! Maybe a tiny bit of burger from Five Guys when I finally get the chance to go? No, that's gross. 


That but of fluff in my hair is irritating me so much! My hair is gross at the moment, I think its "got used" to my shampoo and is just mega flat and always feels like there's loads of product in it. I'm determined to actually finish a whole bottle of shampoo though so I'll have to put up with it!

Wednesday Wishlist: Dresses

Wednesdays are all about lusting over stuff I can't have! Maybe in my dreams. I am absolutely skint at the moment, so obviously I can't stop torturing myself with stuff! Just have to be strong and remember that I'll have a much better time in Disney if I have some spending money!

 I really love the colour of this dress! Turquoise is one of my favourite colours (I have about fifty) and the bold print is cartoony which I like. I'm not usually a fan of aztec but the colour swung this one! I like the high neck and no sleeves combo too.


HEART PRINTS. I love heart prints and I like dresses where the boob shape is already put in (technical term). Top Shop have this thing of not lining up their patterns down the seams which really annoys me though, for the money you're paying it should look better. I know its probably the style but it's not my style! I could probably make an exception for a red and white heart print dress though!


I am so in love with this dress its not even funny. Sequins! Pink! I would add this to my collection of princess dresses that I never have an occasion to wear.


I have been searching for the perfect sailor dress for what seems my whole life. This isn't perfect, but it does have a pink bow so I'll allow it. I just want one of those flaps that goes round the back on every item of clothing I own.


I have a thing for poofy pink dresses. Do you know how mad I was when Andie tore up that amazing prom dress in Pretty in Pink? It basically ruined the whole film. Anyway, this ticks all the boxes and I feel like it would be extra poofy with that layer underneath!

Holiday Threads

I may have mentioned it once, or twice, or every day, but I'M GOING TO DISNEYWORLD THIS YEAR. In October! I'm so excited, Disney is my favourite place in the whole world and also Florida weather! I haven't actually been on holiday somewhere sunny since I was thirteen so I am mega excited to not be freezing for once in my life! Knowing my luck it'll probably chuck it down the whole two weeks! Anyway, since I never go on holiday I am mega excited about HOLIDAY SHOPPING! I already have three bikinis but it's still fun to look anyway, isn't it? Oh, and whats that I hear you say? "But Robyn, your holiday isn't for another six months!" I DO WHAT I WANT. Okay, so here's a collage of some bikinis I've been spying!

Jewellery Wishlist

Recently I've been lusting over jewellery, not that that's unusual. I think I think about Disney Couture 70% of the day, but despite the fact that I have a lot of jewellery I'm pretty picky over what I do and don't like. I'm usually a sucker for anything with an animal on it, and I much prefer to wear gold over silver! Here's a little wishlist of what I've been looking at these past weeks, who knows, maybe when I get my paycheck I can maybe treat myself!


I love Honey B Gold, their pieces remind me of old Versace where all the super models would be dripping in chains. Their stuff is bold and brassy and would definitely make me feel fierce if I was wearing it. Not in a Tyra Banks way, as in actually feeling like I could kick someone's ass. The dripping Chanel logo is crazy cool and those skull earrings are an interesting alternative to my usual gold hoops. All their stuff is made to order and I reckon they're very reasonably priced considering how flashy they look!

Lazy Oaf is where my boyfriend got my beloved burger necklace from. I really like their pieces, they're eye-catching and still quite feminine, I really love drawn diamonds and instantly loved this turquoise diamond necklace, it reminds me weirdly of a painting I did a couple of days ago which is really freaky. As for the bracelet, this also comes in a choker but I'm really paranoid that my neck is too fat for chokers to fit around so I never buy them. The bracelet is a good substitute and is a pretty sexy piece in my eyes. I like the pop of red and the leather material!


I saw this pony from Mari Queen on tumblr today and INSTANTLY FEEL IN LOVE. How perfect is it? The little gem cutie mark and everything! It's currently not available but I really hope I have some birthday money for when it is released, it's just too perfect! The shark tooth and jaw piece is totally cool, I love sharks but I wouldn't want to wear a real shark tooth because I don't know how it was found or nothing. My grandma used to have a shark tooth on her mantle and I used to play with it when I was little!

Finally, I'm totally head over heels for this ice cream watch from New Look. I've been looking for a new watch and this has pretty much every element of everything I have ever loved, in watch form. ice cream WITH A FLAKE! ICE CREAM CHARM! CANDY STRIPES! I am actually feeling a little sick that this might sell out without me ever knowing its touch. COME TO MAMA, BABY!

Shopping for Tweens

God I HATE the word tweens, still I couldn't think of another description that wasn't totally long winded. Anyway, this post has come about because my littlest sister's birthday is coming up (two days after mine actually!) and I thought, since I've got five siblings, doing a little birthday wishlist for each of them would be pretty much INSPIRED. Do you have trouble finding gifts? Me too. I always leave it to the last minute whenever I have to buy a gift but usually I am excellent at picking out something the person will like! IT'S A TALENT, I'M TELLING YA.

My littlest sister is rapidly approaching teenager territory and that kind of freaks me out, but I think tweens are at a great age where they can experiment and have fun with their style and sense of individuality without being overly embarrassed or beaten into submission by school uniforms, sassy older kids etc etc. YOU KNOW? Plus it's the perfect time to mold their minds into loving the same stuff you love. JUST KIDDING (not kidding).

If you've got a tween (I'm talking from the ages of eleven to like, fourteen here) birthday coming up, how about checking out my wishlist for some inspiration?
Whew! Okay, here we go. Obviously any self-respecting tween will have a journal, HELLO? Journals are a major part of growing up, like Winona in Heathers, you need somewhere to spill your secrets. I mean, they could use Livejournal (like I did) but the thing about having your journal on the internet is that it's never really erased. At least wheny ou're a twenty-something and you stumble upon a written journal you did in year 9 you can hide it at the bottom of your sock drawer instead of worrying that it's on google cache. I like this 'Spill Your Guys' journal from Pygmy Hippo!

Thirteen is the official age you can join Facebook, right? Don't let your baby sis make the same Myspace/Faceparty photo mistakes we did and get her something cool to take picture of her friends with. I like the sound of the pop cam from Fred Flare, but other things like a split cam or an old instant camera can provide hours of entertainment and ~nuture their brains~. Let those younger generations experience the pleasure of winding film on and the anticipation of what their photos will come out like!

When you're a young girl, your bedroom is your private place of solitude, to study, to overpluck your eyebrows and stare longingly at your poster of Leonardo Dicaprio in Titanic, you spend ages making the place "really you", which for me ended up plastering my Care Bears wall paper with posters of Friends (which I totally regret now). When you're going through all those feelings you need a safe, cute place to just kick back and relax in, not to mention being a slumber party hostess! This fruity bedsheet from H&M is really cute and bright, and could work with any number of colours in a bedroom!

This red Ladybird collar from Pygmy Hippo is so sweet and fun, at a time in a kid's life where their fashion choices can be terrible and still look awesome (hello jelly sandals, tennis dress and stick on face jewels of my youth) your giftee could pair this sweet collar with almost anything and pull it off. Plus, I think bug print is gonna take off soon!

You need a place to show off your pop cam prowess, right? How about this Birds on a Wire photo hanger from Fred Flare. I have a feeling that I would have thought this was THE EPITOME OF SOPHISTICATION when I was a teen, it's really cute and can also be used to display your most prized possessions (cinema ticket stubs and concert tickets anyone?) in a ~classy way.  If you're feeling crafty you could probably make a ton of these yourself too, maybe in different designs? They look simple to make, stick a paperclip on the back of a farm animal with a glue gun, JOB'S A GOODUN.

A cool bag for school is what we all really want, right? Personally I had a bright pink eastpak covered in Green Day patches, the patches are gone but the bag is still in miraculous condition, and I still use it today! A good bag can last you a very long time, and this Gola bag from New Look looks pretty sturdy to me, as well as being super cool. A slightly vintage look with mad colours, yes please!

It is your duty as an older, wiser person to lead your baby sister/cousin/niece on the right path when it comes to films. Of course, they should be watching recent films because there's nothing wrong with them, but how about showing her a few classics to broaden her horizons? I've chosen Better Off Dead, 10 Things I Hate About You and Hairspray as a good place to start, but check out my Teen Films list on letterboxd for other ideas! It doesn't just stop at films, what about music? A good soundtrack can get a teen girl through the hardest times and stay with her a lifetime. What about Avril Lavigne's Let Go or Blondie's Greatest Hits? As for books, Point Horror are really cheap (can usually be found in charity shops) and much more thrilling than submissive Bella practicing sex after marriage. The girls in Point Horror are fighting murder mysteries, zombies, aliens, ghosts whilst trying to get to prom on time! Teen fiction has definitely gone downhill these days, not that Twilight is particularly bad, but the message it puts across is a load of bull, so doing a little research and buying a stack of old teen hits for her might be well appreciated, especially if she's getting sick of vampires and werewolves!

And finally, when I got to the age of thirteen I was obsessed with having my own high heels. I used to save up my pocket money and buy high heels from New Look and stash them in my room, because my mum had set a heel height and they nearly always went over, then I'd wear them down The Fez Club every other Friday on their under 18s night and nearly always end up barefoot from the pain! These days I cannot wear heels at all but at the time it was like a rite of passage. I would never pressure a girl into wearing heels if she wasn't into them, but if your tween has expressed an interest I like these awesome heels from Schuh. They are SPARKLY! and PINK!

What I Wore

 This is what I wore to go ride around on steam trains last Sunday. The jumper is from Primark and I've wanted it since last Winter, but I waited until it went in the sale and snagged it for a fiver a couple of weeks ago! It's so nice, it's like blue with rusty sparkly thread going through it. Hard to describe really! The cross was my Great Grandma's. It's plastic but really lovely. I remember seeing it in with all her stuff a lot when I was little so I was really happy to get it when she passed! I'm not religious but I don't think I'm offending anyone by wearing it as it's so sentimental.
The dress is this one from New Look, it's currently my fave! Sorry for these mirror shots but IT'S THE ONLY WAY. I also stuck on what I wore to work on the end, because I wanted the pictures to be even. I felt pretty fancy that day! The dress is also from New Look. Both are currently on sale! NL is kind of my obsesh at the moment because of the amazing sale prices!

What I've Been Wearing

Here are three rather poor quality photos of what I've been wearing recently. Firstly, some lovely purple eyeshadow from my beloved MUA pallette. I can't say enough good things about that! Secondly, the outfit I wore to Cheltenham Jazz Festival to go watch Drive in a tent. The dress is probably the best dress I ever owned and it's on sale! Thirdly, this is an outfit I wore to work on Tuesday. The skirt is another bird print and its from Primark. It made me feel fancy all day, living the glamorous life next to the photocopier!

Met Ball 2012: Best Dressed!

There were A LOT of bad choices at this event but who even cares? It's like, one night of the year to be properly outrageous so whatever, if you want to wear a deconstructed ticker tape ensemble, go for it! Can I just talk about Lana Del Rey for a second? SHE IS WEARING A CAPE. I can't even deal with this. Lily Collins looks so cute, I'm so down with anything resembling Miss Havisham.

Best Dressed: Soap Awards 2012

The Soap Awards is one of my guilty pleasures, I LOVE red carpets full stop but there's something about seeing people you only ever see in their "soap clothes" going really glam that is so satisfying. Here are six outfits I thought really stood out!
I love a man who goes a little bit different and pulls it off! Ryan Gosling is a classic example and it seems the actor formally known as Ste has got the flare for picking out fashionable menswear too! As for the dresses, they are all so lovely! Even the black one Shona is wearing is a bit special with the leg slit and everything. Good stuff! Mandeep plays Phoebe in Hollyoaks and she is pretty much unrecognisable! Wowww!

Delicious Wishlist

Yesterday I wanted to buy myself a little treat because I was so good at the dentist, and any excuse really! I hit the jackpot when I found a dress I've wanted for a while had gone into the sales! It's on its way to me now. But, before I remembered to look for it I found lot's of other lovely things that I quite wanted to have, so I made a little wishlist to show you!

The pastel bag is a steal at £8, how good is that?! It comes in other colours and everything and at that prince it doesn't matter too much if you want to say, SHOVE STUDS ALL OVER IT. That would be lovely! My favourite thing on this list is the french fries t-shirt. I am practically giving birth over how wonderful it is. Except that it's CROPPED. Look, I'm sorry but I haven't worn a crop top since I was thirteen and I don't plan on going to any school discos again soon so can we just get back to having regular sized tops now?

OotD: Lilac Dress Worn Three Ways

I got this dress from New Look this week, it's in the sale for a tenner! I thought it was pretty much a bargain since I wear my other New Look lace dress TO DEATH, I want it in every colour! I got a size up as I was scared my butt wouldn't fit in it, so it's a bit baggy on top. I decided to work with it and came up with three ways to wear it so i thought I would show you! I went for a sort of creepy look, a preppy look and a glam look in the end. The pictures are all jumbled up, I've bene editing this post for like three hours trying to make sense out of it. In the end I gave up and just mixed all the outfits up!
These are the ASOS glasses I bought from my lilac wishlist the other day! I love them, but they don't exactly block out the sun! I'm also wearing a fancy badge of a poodle from Oliver & Company, because obviously.
Brogues and socks are like, the best combination? They make me feel fancy but still casual enough to wear during the day. The white cross necklace was my Great Grandma's that I put on a chain and the gold wedges in the first picture were from Debenhams like three years ago. I'm useless!
Because the back of this dress is well, backless, and I cannot go without a bra, I thought putting my skeleton vest underneath would be cute. And it is! But the dress is still baggy and it would look better if it was tighter around my body, or maybe if I wasn't huddling from the FREEZING COLD WEATHER. FU, SPRING! I'm also wearing skeleton socks because matching is important. I got my Doc Martens off Ebay for £30 omg, can you believe it? I've had them for about a year and I still wonder if THIS IS JUST A DREAM.
That's all I have today! Hope you enjoyed my threeway teeheeeeeeeee. Apologies for the socking state of my roots too, its hard to disguise them when you're roots are basically black ARGH.

Monki Wishlist

I was first alerted to Monki through LLYMLRS's blog and I sort of fell in love. They have such affordable prices and simple shapes! Even though I'm a huge fan of loud prints and stuff  I like to have a simple silhouette to my clothes, probably since I have so many wobbly bits! Naturally I made a wishlist of my top stuff from Monki...

Lush! My favourite it number nine, I love silver things! I don't think I could pull it off though, but it would look ace on a lovely tall person. I would wear it all summer with frilly socks and sneakers! Sigh! I'm also a bit in love with the apple t-shirt but I have sooo many white t-shirts now it's getting a bit ridiculous! Especially since because of my skin I have a tendency to ruin them by bleeding all over them! I'm seriously considering the red polka dot dress to add to my Disneyland Wardrobe. Perhaps I shall make a Disneyland Wardrobe Wishlist next! That could be super cute!!

Lilac Wishlist

When I was a babby I wanted a lilac bedroom so bad, but then all my best friends got one and it was like, totally over done and that, so I opted for the great colour combination of bright blue and lime green, obviously. But the growing popularity of lilac in fashion has made me grow wistful. It is a beautiful colour, isn't it? It seems quite quirky too, like it should be reserved for babies but to hell with that! I want a lilac wardrobe!

Ohhhh bask in the uniform colour my friends! There's nothing more pleasing. How absolutely crazyperfect is that River Island swimming cossie? I cannot get over how something can be lilac AND have seahorses on it, it's pretty much MADE for me. Only I can't swim, and I'm skint so I can't go on holiday. But you best believe if I can justify it I'm buying that! 

The sunglasses are another favourite of mine that I first saw on Scathingly Brilliant and I thought they were from the American ASOS (come to think of it I don't even know if there is an American ASOS?) so I didn't bother getting them, but browsing UK ASOS yesterday I SAW THEM. AND THEY'RE ON SALE. So I snapped them up, with free next day shipping too! Too bad it'll probably never be sunny again the way the weather is going at the moment! Just another pair of sunglasses to add to the glasses drawer (yes, there is a whole drawer).

Visiting Canterbury

This weekend I went to London to visit my boyfriend and on Saturday we took a ~day trip~ to Canterbury. I was meant to go to Canterbury for uni, I was going to study Religious Studies and Criminology but I chose Bristol in the end to do Film, which was probably for the best because even though Canterbury is SUPER NICE I don't think I could handle all the twee shops and things all day every day!!

We didn't do much sight-seeing, in the end we just walked around all the shops (Canterbury has a surprisingly large number of "goth shops) where we scored some awesome shit.  Mike found a Kingdom Hearts t-shirt and I finally found a Specials t-shirt that wasn't totally over-priced, amongst other things. The best thing I bought was at a Vintage Fair though. I usually don't have much luck at them because everything is out of my price range or doesn't fit right, but the gods were smiling on me because I scored a ridiculously amazing jumper for a fiver. It's bright green and has dolphins on it, the lady running the stall said "I didn't think I'd be selling tis today", LADY IT'S A JUMPER WITH DOLPHINS ON IT OFC YOU'D BE SELLING IT. 

Also we had yummy cream cakes, I got cream all in my hair it was quite disgraceful but the cake was lush so who cares? If you can't wipe cake into your hair on a day trip, when can you?! Anyway, onto the pictures!
Canterbury is full of important looking buildings. For such a tiny place it has a lot of towers and stuff. But you have to pay to get into the cathedral which is a dick move ~imo. You don't have to pay to get into Gloucester Cathedral and they filmed Harry Potter in there! Also Canterbury is full of old buildings that are a bit crooked and adorable. I wish we could have come when it was sunny so we could have seen some ducks orrrr ducklings!
MY DELICIOUS CREAM CAKE. I nearly had a break down trying to choose what I wanted in the shop but it was delicious and had jam in the middle and a strawberry and a chocolate button! I wish I could eat it again. Also there are lots of pigeons in Canterbury. I quite like pigeons, I'm down for any animal that is tame enough to strut around my feet. Also I like their pretty oil slick colours and the way their heads bob when they run really fast. We watched two pigeons having a bath in the castle moat for a while, it was quite adorable!
I'm not sure what this lamb was for, but I'd quite like a lamb statue for my house. They had a huge CEX store in Canterbury and its the first CEX I've been in that doesn't smell like feet. For international readers, CEX is where people go to sell their used games or DVDs or CDs and sometimes you can get awesome things real cheap. Once we got the first series of Twin Peaks for a tenner. BARGAIN. And lastly, my amazing dolphin jumper! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT WAS FIVE POUNDS?! I am so stoked!

ASOS Free Next Day Delivery & Discussing Dreaded Chub Rub.

Just a heads up that next day deliv is free today on ASOS! I got myself some cycling shorts because I hate my thighs but I like wearing dresses, so I'm hoping this will solve my "can I go out in nude coloured tights when its not dark" problem!

Speaking of nude coloured tights, what's your opinion on them? I wear them quite a lot because my legs are a bit scabby from my eczema, and I don't like getting sticky legs when you've been walking for ages, but I also don't really like the look of them and I always feel like people are laughing at me for wearing them! Do you wear them, do you hate them?

Also since we're being frank, can we get onto the subject of "chub rub"? I get it. It's where your thighs cause friction when you go bare legged because they touch and it makes it impossible to go bare legged for long periods of time. I envy ladies without touching thighs so much! I'm pear shaped and no matter what I do my thighs have stubbornly stayed a size 14 - 16 for as long as I can remember, and I can't go bare legged. Which makes frolicking in the summer quite hard. At one point I used to take deodorant out with me and spray it on my thighs! But the white marks were way weird to explain. So does anyone know of any product that can help? I know there's a bunch of stuff in the US but I don't think its as known in the UK? I'd just like to know if you even get the problem! HIT ME UP.

I just found me a brand new box of matches...

I love shoes, me. Mostly trainers. I'm a huge fan of trainers. Like such famous trainers wearers as Lily Allen and erm,  Eliza Doolittle, I have got no shame in my trainers game. I wear them to clubs, with dresses, to posh places... I'm a bit obsessed. I also like other types of shoes, I buy high heels and never wear them because I can't walk in them. I don't know what went wrong, when I was thirteen I had a pair of 4 inch heels that I used to wear to the under 18's club night at Fez Club and it was all fine, but more than ten minutes with a pair of heels on my feet now and I'm weeping into a corner. Doesn't mean I can't still stroke them though, right? Well I've made a wishlist of shoes I've been coveting recently.

I've lost the source for the first ones, anyone know where they're from? Okay so I'm a bit obsessed with flatforms. It's like adding height without having to walk in heels, right? Essentially you stay flat on the ground. I'm also a big Spice Girls fan, so platforms really appeal to me. I also always kid myself into thinking I can walk in wedges because "they're not heels". It never works. I love all these shoes, but my favourites are the Minnie Mouse pink trainers, which are sold out! But I check back all the time so see if they're back in stock because COME ON how can I go to Disneyland without wearing them the entire time?!

Sunshine, Lollipops and...

It was such a lovely day out! I picked up three new nail polishes from Boots (3 for 2 deal!) and I got these cute Models Own sea side colours (slate green, lemon meringue and orange sorbet)!). I'm really happy at the moment because I'm going on a little holiday for Easter down to Great Yarmouth, hopefully. Great Yarmouth is on the east coat and they have sticks or rock and chips and freshly made donuts and deck chairs and claw machines and it's completely tacky and probably one of my favourite places ever! I've been going ever since I was a kid,  I learnt to rollerblade, skateboard and swim down there and even though its not the most fancy of places (not by a long shot!) I've always got fond memories. I'm going to take a bunch of pictures and spend all my 2p's on the penny machines!
Do you like my gold tooth? I got it in the ASOS sale and I'm in love!
