Ups and Downs

On Sunday night my computer gave up the goose. Is that even a saying? I can't be bothered to google it, but anyway my computer got a virus and crapped out so I'm currently typing this on my laptop I've had since I was thirteen. That's nearly eleven years! None of the number keys work and its super slow so if things get kind of quiet around here you can blame virus makers.

In better news, I may have an actual real paid job pretty soon which I am super stoked about because MONEY. Money means DISNEY LAND!! Okay, thats about all I have to say so I'm going to leave you with a jam because I haven't done My Jamz for a super long time!

 I love this song, it is perfect pop and the backing vocals are really nice. I also really like the video and Alexis Jordan overall. FOUR FOR YOU.

Sunday Rambles

I don't have access to my boyfriend's phone at the moment so no instagram update! Instead I snapped a picture to despair over the terrible lighting this torrential rain is causing for any photos I'm snapping!

Soooo grainy! Anyways, I'm kind of on a health kick at the moment so I was thinking I would photo document my packed lunches for work this week, would anyone be interested in seeing what I'm eating? We can try and do healthy lunches together! 

I'm also really thinking of ombre-ing my hair, blonde on the ends. At the moment it's ginger and I've got about two inches of dark roots coming through, but I think they look kinda neat but I've got the dying bug, so I thought WHY NOT BLONDE ENDS. ~Watch this space~.

This weekend has been a total washout, but I really hope it stops raining soon. Our fence blew over today and squashed our neighbours flowers, whoops! I really hope it clears up by next weekend because it's a) bank holiday and b) Cheltenham Jazz Festival! I'm not a massive jazz fan but they have food stalls and they're screening Drive and I'd love to see it on the big screen again!

OMG OMG OMG OMG

OMG. In less than two hours I'll be on my way to go see Cabin In The Woods, probably my most hyped film of 2012 (If you follow me on twitter you're probably sick of hearing about it). I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT IT, BUT I'VE BEEN LOOKING FORWARD TO IT FOR WEEKS. I just had to share my excitement!

OMG I love Princess Superstar so much, she is so cheeky! Can you believe this song came out in 2002? I used to dance to it when at the under 18s club night! The under 18s club night was great, they served red bull and turned on the foam machine! It was kind of like clubbing for alcoholic anonymous and I even saw Blue perform there before they got famous! They used to play this song ALL the time, such fond memories of teetering around on 5 inch heels as a baby gawth to this song!

Tonight's jam is one of my most favourite songs ever. I really only like the version with Darlene Love on lead vocals, I'm a huge fan of her voice! It's written by Gene Pitney too, who I'm pretty sure was the best musical genius to ever live. Chiddy Bang also sampled the track on their song Rebel!

Also, I thought I'd bring everyone's attention to my music tumblr, where I post bunches and bunches of songs! It's here and the tags are quite organised, so it might be fun to browse through!

Feels like ages since I did my last jam! Today's jam is a song I've been feeling for a couple of months now, the title of it describes the song perfectly, something I enjoy very much. A title can make a song! Or at least make me listen to it (I never would have listened to Mclusky - Lightsaber Cocksucking Blues otherwise!).

I wanted to put Raw and Searing Flesh by Lawrence Arms as my jam but the video someone had made to go with it was too cringe and I couldn't have it on my blog! My neurotic nature got the best of me again. SO. Instead I shall post the very first Lawrence Arms song I ever fell in love with.

From about 2 minutes onwards this song  STEPS IT UP A NOTCH and gets reallll goooood. Enjoy!

If you're anything like me then all you really want to do on a Saturday night is chill out and listen to music. Friday night is my party night so I'm glad Saturday TV has been so good recently since I ALWAYS stay in! Tonight BBC2 have got the third installment of their pop band series, dealing with pop stars. My favourite so far has been the boy band episode though there was a severe lack of the band I'm featuring for tonight's jam...

This has been stuck in my head for ages and ages! It reminds me of The Commitments which is obviously one of the best films of all time. Does The Commitments count as a musical? Because I would totally let it be in my top three musicals of all time.

I love Patsy Cline, she had one of the purest and most pleasing voices in the entire world. She's Got You is my very favourite Patsy song, I love the lyrics and I especially love this live video. Patsy looks like she means business, check out that eyebrow game! Such an amazing lady. I get a kick out of this line so much: I've got your class ring that proved you care, and it still looks the same as when you gave a damn!

I'm thinking of starting a new ~feature called My Jamz or possible something less obnoxious when I think of it, but anyway it's just a way for me to get some of my favourtie songs onto the blog. Tonight's jam is Millie Small - My Boy Lollipop, which was pretty much the first ska song to break into the charts in the UK and is massively important to the whole ska scene I reckon! Though Millie wasn't the first person to record the song I still think her version is the definitive. I'd love to dance to it as my first dance at my wedding one day! Enjoy!
