New Fantasyland

I'm back from Disneyworld! More coherant thoughts to follow when it stops being painful for me to NOT BE IN DISNEYWORLD ANYMORE. Maybe next week. For now I'm (slowly) editing all my pictures and sighing over how perfect New Fantasyland is. SERIOUSLY, TANGLED TOWER OMG. The Tangled area was easily my favourite bit of the whole Magic Kingdom. Life On Film

I got a few rolls of film developed yesterday and now I am bitten by the camera bug again, I forgot just how exciting it is waiting for film to be developed, and also I found some pictures from Christmas I had forgotten I had taken! On Sunday we went for a lengthy walk around Bexley and beyond, through the woods and fields. We were there until the sun went down and I shot a couple of rolls. I used some black and white film that I am still impressed with, it gives everything a very moody edge. The rest were shot with this odd film I got in a pack at Urban Outfitters that I'm not too keen on to be honest, it just looks like an instagram filter over it! I wanted something that would make the colours pop so I guess I'll keep searching!

Polaroid Practice

On my bookshelf I have this cute little tin and inside I keep all my polaroids. I have a love/hate relationship with polaroid photography because I love the instant gratification of it coming out the bottom but on the other hand the film is SO expensive for so little, especially for a beginner when most of your shots come out blurred or just don't come out at all. I've got loads still to learn but I just can't afford to carry on! I love the look of polaroid cameras too, so at least they look pretty hanging round the flat! I like the look of the classic polaroids the most but my instax is a lot more reliable and takes much better pictures, just they're not in the cute square format! When I'm rich I'm gonna buy a buttload of polaroid film and paper my whole house with them. For now, this is all I've got!

Film Photos

I picked up my first 35mm on my birthday last year. I got an Olympus OM10 from a very enthusiastic seller in Brick Lane, and instantly fell in love with it. It cost me £40 and takes stunning photos with very little effort on my part! I've definitely had the 35mm bug since, there's something about not knowing what's going to come out when you get your film developed that is totally addictive!

I don't have a scanner at the moment so I had to take photos of my photos, which is pretty awkward. I never thought I would like to use black and white film but some of my favourite photos have come from this batch!

My granddad recently gave me his old Nikon 35mm from the early 70s. Its so awesome but I'm not sure how well it works, the exposure and the film count are broken but I'm so excited to try and take some photos with it! I really hope its got some life left in it and I've been waiting for summer to come to test it out!

Although I love my Sony Cybershot (seriously, it does the job so well!) I really miss the lack of viewfinder and I open find that the camera strap or a show has strayed into my shot. I guess also because you only get one shot with film that you really have to be a perfectionist about it. My 35mm prints are definitely better composed AND you don't have to resize, edit, convert and all that junk that comes with digital photography!

I'm also a huge geek about imperfections in the film. The bottom right came out really cool despite the film going a bit wrong on it. Cameras man, they're a mystery!

Counting Flowers On The Wall

I really like blue flowers the most out of flowers. They just seem a bit more unusual than normal flowers. I'm also really inot lots of different variations of flowers all together, ever since I was little and we did that thing where you put flowers in coloured ink and watch them change colour I've been sort of fascinated with stuff like that! Anyway, they had a really nice flower display in Regents Park. I don't know what these flowers are, I thought Foxgloves but they don't look quite right? Either way I was digging them.

Regents Park 2

FABS. How do you eat your Fab? I like to nibble everything off until there's only the red bit left. Do you remember the Fab adverts a few years ago? It might have had Alan Partridge doing the advert if I'm correct? Or if not it was definitely a spoof radio show thing.

Ah lovely! It looks like a lagoon. A lagoon in the rain, with ducks getting trapped in the pond scum. I used to have a pond in the house I lived in through the ages of thirteen to eighteen. I LOVED THAT POND. It was the worst pond in the world, for instance it would evaporate in the summer and need to be refilled ALL DAY. My dog ate the water pump so that the pond scum used to grow really quick, but it was real fun to dreg it all out. We had frogs and all sorts in there, the house was a bungalow and I used to fall asleep to the sound of the frogs. So sweet!

The last picture is my favourite I took that day. I love how dramatic the sky looks, and though it doesn't look it it was super windy as I snapped it.

Regents Park

I hope you're all enjoying these photo dumps! I've made a new rule for myself that when I take some photos, I must edit and post them within the week otherwise I just forget about them, so this Regents Park visit is really stretching out! I don't mind so much though as it's really helped me get back into blogging. Of course, the break from work is also helping, but hopefully I can stockpile enough blog posts to take the pressure off. I'm not the only one who feels massively guilty when they don't blog daily, am I?!

Since I've been working I've found myself more eager to be out of the house. Maybe the long period of employment affected me a lot, as I ran out of energy quickly and going places daunted me. But I always feel like leaving the house now, maybe because i can see how precious free time is! Anyway, Regents Park is really nice, I'm always shocked at how big the parks in London are considering there is a such a lack of green space. To suddenly be confronted by a mass of green weirds me out, but I love it!

Regents Park is so posh though, I don't even know if you're allowed to walk on the grass, but there's no signs so I did it anyway. Even though not letting dogs in bums me out (I love spotting cute dogs on their walks!) it's pretty nice to be able to walk around without worrying about stepping in poo.

Man, I have SO MANY photos still left to post, I was really happy about having the camera back!
