Foxy Shazam/Free Energy tour!

If you live in America, this should be some of the most exciting news you'll ever hear. Anyone who follows this blog will know by now that a good chunk of it is dedicated to my musical crush Free Energy. Well, I have some exciting news! The Free Energy guys are going on a tour of the US supporting probably the greatest live band I have ever seen, Foxy Shazam! Congrats to Free Energy!

Perfect summer band and all round cool motherfuckers Free Energy have managed to get their video for Bang Pop on rotation at MTV!! Dizzammmmmn!

Also, I'm going to catch the guys at Reading Festival this August! Best birthday present ever or greatest birthday present ever?

The guys debut album is also now available on Spotify for free streaming and most of the songs are up on YouTube. These guys are going to be BIG!!

Free Energy have released ANOTHER video! I really love this video because everyone in it are friends of the band and stuff. It's very personal, very rock n roll and has "Fleetwood Mac rules" etched into a toilet door! Check it:

Also worth a look is a mix made on Tumblr that features All I Know by Free Energy mixed with a Drake record. You can even download it, and it's okay because the band are promoting this themselves! I wasn't joking when I said they were going to be your new favourite band. Check that here!

Free Energy

Just a quick update to say that Free Energy (the band I mentioned before) streamed a live show earlier today and it's currently playing on loop. It's great quality with an awesome back drop of the city and adorably awkward dancing. Check it out below!

Free Energy: your new favourite band

Back in March I went to go see Motion City Soundtrack play at Birmingham Academy (which is an amazing new venue, but I do miss the old shitty one!) and one of the support acts was Free Energy, a kind of psychedelic, sixties inspired group with feathers in their guitars and skinny jeans. Basically, they were awesome, and although I looked, I couldn't see them selling any records at the show. They were really fun and totally got the crowd going! The singer, to me, sounds a lot like Julian Casablancas, and the whole band are pretty buff. Perfect summer music!

They're touring in the UK later this month and I urge everyone to check them out, you'll have a blast. Also, you can buy the album from Amazon! You can listen to some songs off the album on their Myspace, my favourite is 'All I Know'.
